Glomus tympanicum is a tumor of the middle ear and if found out early, can be removed without disturbing the hearing mechanism of the ear and without injury to the vital structures nearby like the nerve to the muscles of the face. Through the posterior tympanotomy, which is a very skilful delicate procedure the tumor removal is demonstrated. The patient can leave hospital the same day.
